Abel Tasman (Bark Bay to Marahau)

A 28 km (17 mile) six to nine hour hike from Bark Bay to Marahau. (Five to seven hours of actual walking time, with about 630 metres of elevation gain.) Take the boat taxi from Marahau to Bark Bay, and then walk back to Marahau. This is a full day's outing, you should be very fit, and you'll definitely want some food for the hike. The Torrent Bay to Marahau hike is the boat taxi day hike in Abel Tasman that I normally recommend, so consider that if are not sure if starting from Bark Bay might be too much. Starting from Anchorage is an even shorter hike.
