This is a cool side trip when walking in the Torrent Bay area. The pool is only 5 or 10 minutes off the main Abel Tasman track. There is a short natural water slide there. If it is near noon on a sunny day, it can be fun to swim there. Note: If you are doing the low-tide "short cut" across the Torrent Bay estuary, then you won't be close to Cleopatra's Pool. You need to do the high-tide track that goes around the edge of the estuary if you want to go to Cleopatra's Pool. The low-tide track doesn't save you a whole lot of time once you account for: changing shoes from hiking shoes to water shoes/sandals, cleaning your muddy feet at the end, and the slow pace through the mud flats. Plus, you miss the Cleopatra's Pool side trip if you do the low-tide track.
