Backpack Tour des Combins (10 Day Loop)
The Tour des Combins, often referred to as the small neighbor of the Tour du Mont Blanc. Between Switzerland and Italy, this tour offers 7 days of alpine hiking. On the border between Italy and Switzerland, the Combins massif will surprise hikers with its majestic peaks (highest point 4314 m) and vast glaciers. Around 130 km of signposted routes, at altitudes ranging from 1300 m to 2800 m, 40% of which are in Italy (Val d'Aoste region), while 60% are in Switzerland (between Val d'Entremont and Val de Bagnes). This Itinerary is a longer version of the traditional Tour des Combins. The longest day was about 26 km with 1,500 meters of vertical gain. The link to the AllTrails version is not the same. The segments on the east side of the loop are similar, but this version I did in 2025 goes further to the west, through Ferret and La Fouly.
