Hike Grindelwald To Schreckhornhutte
You do this as a one-way hike, spending the night at the hut/lodge, (dinner and breakfast provided at the hut), or you do it as a long out-and-return day hike. Distance out-and-return: 17.4km, Elevation gain 1,521 meters. Note that distances depend on whether you take the gondola up to the "start" of the hike, or you hike from Grindelwald itself. On this unforgettable route, hikers will pass massive glaciers, climb well-secured ladders, and admire the fantastic view over the spectacular mountain landscape in the direction of the Bernese Finsteraarhorn. This is one of the most beautiful trails in the Swiss Alps. Located in the Bernese Alps, the Schreckhornhütte (2529m) is part of the UNESCO World Heritage Swiss Alps Jungfrau-Aletsch region and lies north of the Grindelwald glacier. This alpine mountain hike requires sure-footedness and a head for heights.
