Short, very steep, rooty two to three hour hike in the Nelson area. If you are a local and are looking for a new, "after work", hike to try, this is a good one in the summer because it is mostly shaded. About 7.5 km, with about 875 metres elevation gain. Please note, the links I have provided to other websites only do part of the Scout Track Loop Hike that I am suggesting you do. See the Strava image for a map of the "loop" I recommend. It is not a long hike, but is steep and rooty, so I rated it as "Difficult". Toilets at the carpark at the start of the hike.
