Our Museum tells the story of New Zealand, its place in the Pacific and its people. Auckland Museum is housed in an historical building within a tranquil park which has beautiful views of the harbour. It is a place to discover and learn about New Zealand's history and stories. Since 1929, the Museum has also served as place of remembrance for the many Aucklanders who have sacrificed their lives in war. Whether you have an hour spare or a whole day, visit Auckland Museum to gain a deep understanding of New Zealand culture and heritage. General Admission All visitors require General Admission tickets to explore our three floors of galleries. Please note that some galleries are currently closed, including our Māori Court and Pacific galleries. However, there are plenty of Māori collection items to see and stories of the people of Aotearoa New Zealand to uncover in our other galleries.
