Nugget Point Lighthouse, located in the Catlins region of New Zealand’s South Island, is one of the country’s most iconic coastal landmarks. Perched high on a rugged cliff, the lighthouse overlooks a cluster of rocky islets known as “the Nuggets,” which are often surrounded by seals, sea lions, and seabirds. A short walking track leads to a dramatic viewing platform with panoramic views across the Pacific Ocean. Sunrise and sunset are especially stunning, casting golden light over the waves and rocks. With its wild scenery, rich wildlife, and historic charm, Nugget Point is a must-visit stop on the Southern Scenic Route. “Nugget Point Lighthouse” by Tatters ✾(https://www.flickr.com/photos/tgerus/53724044447), licensed under CC BY 2.0.
