A beatiful one to three-hour walk along the clifftops between Cape Foulwind and Tauranga Bay. A seal colony, a lighthouse and panoramic views of mountains and coastline feature on this spectacular coastal walkway. The walk is only an hour if you go one way, and are a fast walker, or three hours if you do a leisurly round trip walk. You can easily spend most of the day doing this walk and hanging out at the beach in Tauranga Bay. Note that you can do the walk as a loop (as opposed to going back the way you came) if you walk back on the Kawatiri Coastal Bicycle Trail. If you have two cars, you can do it one way by parking one car at the Cape Foulwind end, and the other car at the Tauranga Bay end. (Either north or south side of Tauranga Bay, depending upon how far you want to walk.) Another option is for one member of your group to turn back at the halfway point and bring the car around to the end of the walk. That way most of the group gets to do the whole hike.
