A short (1.5 hour out-and-return) walk along the Nile River. Amazing views of limestone cliffs. A swing bridge crossing, and a view of a cave entrance. If you are traveling in the Westport/Charleston/Punakai area, you should either do this walk or the walk up the Pororari river. The walks give you views of similar terrain, but this Nile River walk is shorter, with a smaller shallower river. This is a much less used hiking trail, compared to the Pororari River Track near Punakaiki, so if you want to avoid crowds, do this one instead of the Pororari River. Note that the links supplied for this walk don't have alot of additional information, but you really can't get lost given that you are walking along a river and some railroad tracks.
