A very short, 1.4 km (0.9 mile) out-and-return, walk through unspoiled subtropical forest to a tiny interesting beach. The "sand" on the beach is made of smooth pea-sized rocks that are a novel experience to walk on bare foot. There is a small "waterfall" running off a cliff down onto the beach. Definitely worth at least a 30-minute stop if you have the time while doing things in the Punakaiki and Pororari River area. I go swimming there, but the surf is very rough, there are probably rip tides, and the beach drops off very steeply, so I would not recommend it.
