Farewell Spit Loop Walk

A loop walk along the bay side of Farewell Spit, (Fossil Point Track), crossing over to the ocean side, then back over a small hill and through some paddocks back to the start. You can do this walk at any tide, but doing it at low tide gives you access to a cave at the west end of the beach. (Fossil Beach) Beware that there might be a seal in the dark cave. If it is low tide, you should walk out one or two km onto the bay side to see the assorted sea creatures left by the retreating tide. You can also do a shorter hike over the hills to Fossil Point.
