This church was constructed starting in 1925. The large steps leading up to it are a popular gathering place for locals for lunch during the workweek. Festivals, bands, events, and other entertainment are often staged on, or opposite, the steps. If you are doing a walking tour of Nelson's CBD (Central Business District), the church is at one end of Trafalgar St, and the Maitai River is at the other. The church grounds are beautiful native and exotic plantings.
