This is a beautiful coastal walk near Piha with a good mix of sun and shade in the trees. The seaside part of the loop has amazing views and takes you to the Te Kawerau a Maki Pou (Maori marker sculpture). The track starts at the end of Te Ahua Road at the car park. Be careful around the sea cliffs as there is no barrier, and they drop over 200m to the rough seas below. Stunning views are a highlight of the hike. The steep return path poses a challenge.
