Claphams National Clock Museum in Whangārei’s scenic Town Basin houses one of the Southern Hemisphere’s largest and most historically significant clock collections. Originally amassed by Archibald “Archie” Clapham, the collection began with around 400 quirky, rare, and functional timepieces—including novelty clocks that make tea or track time with moving eyes—and has since grown to over 1,400 clocks.
